Biography

Originally trained as a ceramicist and glassmaker, Sarah has travelled the world to learn jewellery design. She began in Ecuador learning from a local artisan, took classes at a small jewellery school in Mexico, followed by establishing her own successful workshop on the edge of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Currently she is developing her work further by taking a research MA in Design: Jewellery at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London.

Sarah has a background of community development work in Africa and has provided design and jewellery training for the San Bushmen of the Kalahari through Gantsicraft, an NGO ccommitted to improving the lives of San communities by promoting and marketing craft for the benefit of rural producers. Her link with Botswana continues as she researches African craft producers for her Masters.
